How many is too many slides for my forty minute talk on celestial navigation for #39c3? Currently around fifty and still have a few diagrams to make.
(My usual pace is thirty seconds per image, so I think I still have room for more) -

Per non scombinare il thread.
Una zitella di qui negli anni '50andò a lavorare in Svizzera, e si stupì della quantità di ragazzini Down che vedeva in giro, pensando che qui non ce ne fossero.
Poi scoprì che erano tenuti nascosti (soprattutto dalle famiglie bigotte) perché considerati "espiazione" di chissà quale peccato e quindi socialmente riprovevoli.

@mcc (as a heavy booster, I feel a bit guilty when this happens to something I boosted, TBH; OTOH, why should *I* feel guilty for other people's behavior?)

@oblomov you can create the same effect with boosts. the problem is that bluesky and that pre-musk twitter automate the process

@mcc what's interesting to me is that I see this happen here too (indirectly, from people complaining when it happens to them), so apparently even the reduced spreading here is not sufficient to completely avoid the issue, although at the very least it works as a decent “zero-order” filter (I've heard users here characterize events like what you mention as “the post has escaped containment” which is brilliant).

@mcc @bob IIRC there's a Fediverse service that is building on the “circle” concept. Not sure if it was @bonfire or another one though?
