@newyorktimes @world-newyorktimes this is a really great story. Nothing in this story, though, seems to suggest that the US is currently in control of any parts of Venezuela.

That makes a lot more sense. I mean, it's stupid and crazy, but as far as I can tell the US has no remaining presence in Venezuela, and is definitely not in control of the country.
