@jackdaniel I've seen this chart before but on looking at it again I'm realizing that there are probably so many CL implementations because it was standardized right towards the end of the first AI bubble where there were still a lot of companies with the money and skilled engineers to implement such a huge language this many times over -

@nyx that may be true, but every now and then pops a new effort to make the new implementation. Take Mezzano, SICL, Clasp, mocl and JSCL from the last decade.
I think that by today standards, the ansi cl specification is SMALL (even compared to C), and it hits a sweet functionality spot. So maybe because it is because implementing CL is an achievable goal for small teams?
