TIL, there is a term for huge human job loss created by technology like AI or other such stuff.

In economics, deskilling is the process by which skilled labor within an industry or economy is eliminated by the introduction of technologies operated by semi- or unskilled workers. This results in cost savings due to lower investment in human capital, and reduces barriers to entry, weakening the bargaining power of the human capital.

Deskilling is how you get Enshittification. You fire expert developers and almost all office staff that provide support and other services.

@nixCraft akshually 🤓, enshittification and deskilling are independent processes... you may enshittify a company (attract users with a great product, trap them and then extract every ounce of value at their expense) without deskilling your workers at all... Google or Facebook are not enshittified because of unskilled workers, maybe the opposite, as dark patterns are not simpler but even more technically demanding
