https://doi.org/10.1029/2024JE008915"The Tooting impact event was used as a natural laboratory for understanding planetary hydrological phenomena due to catastrophic release of water. Presence of abundant ground ice in the area, considered by researchers to be the bottom of Oceanus Borealis, or the bed of water-flooded lava plains, significantly influenced ensuing events."

Sounds like #Virgil's #Arcadia; a utopia that opened in this universe for a few hours and then vanished:ยซUpon encountering an extensive (more than 100km) impact-induced fracture line network, the water plummeted in ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ, creating ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐จ๐ค๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐ฌ and ๐๐ฉ๐ก๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐ฅ๐๐ค๐๐ฌ. Thanks for sharing this very interesting paper! ๐@65dBnoise I'm glad my paper list is useful to others too ๐ This is one that I haven't yet gone through, just perused quickly. I don't remember why but I knew of Tooting cr already (beyond the mastodon-related pun), and now it's in the to-read list

Lucas just cannot stop doing projects. It seems like he stayed up all night to build a guitar type thing?

Lucas is sleeping outside without shelter as winter hits, because he wanted to build a yurt in one day? This man does not think through his decisions.
Meanwhile, Alan's still doing fine.

Lucas just can't stop doing projects (this is boatman, I'm pretty sure?).
He's starving and decided to move camp. Editor is committing savagery again. Just as Lucas said, "Indigenous people around here lived down by the sea" this caption appeared.

He's also cooking and eating his tiny mouse in his sleeping shelter. Sam is not ready for this at 22. Alan at 40-something has a significant experience advantage.

Day 32. Four guys still left. Things are looking up. Not for Sam, he's excited about catching one (1) tiny mouse, but maybe somebody will get a decent run.

I think Alan could live out there as long as he wants to, but he's going stir crazy by himself.
Sam seems to be better suited to being alone, but he's trying and failing to trap mice, which seems like desperation. Things are going pretty bad when you're sad about not catching mice to eat.

@shanecelis I'm loving this show. I am extremely picky about reality TV and I hate most of it, but this is gold.
