doomgeneric is a great tool for this, but it's kinda badly structured for what I need (multiple simultaneous dooms). So... I either run multiple processes or I rewrite all of doom to no longer have global values?

there are many ways to do this and I'm currently worried about how all of them are likely to be really annoying.
like I don't want to write C TCP/IP code. I can, I've done it before, but it's complicated enough that it might turn into an annoying disaster -

4. UI automationnow I just need to figure out how to include a rickroll and floppy disk and this'll be the most foone project ever

Wayland absolutely makes this kind of thing harder than it was under X11. I have found some limited color control via wlr_gamma_control_unstable_v1 (this seems to be how things like redshift are meant to work on Wayland) but I have no idea what the support picture looks like
If somebody doesn't come along with my dream fix I'll probably write a utility that uses it and find out for myself
