The directions on the number line are properly called one-wards nd one-away. Onewards is minus-one-away and minus-one-wards is one-away.
In case you should wonder why it's onewards and not infinitywards, consider what happens if you have multiple number lines, like in a quaternion space. Obvously, it will be onewards, eewards, jaywards, and kaywards, not four infinitywardses. Besides, which direction would truly qualify as infinity-away?
