@arrrg it's OK to be joyful about this particular race, while also acknowledging Texas is a steep uphill battle. A 31 point swing from 2024 is remarkable. It's a special election, so turnout was low (something like 100,000 votes in a district with a million residents, I think, Texas Senate districts are large) and the Republican is an extremist who made a lot of soccer moms mad with her school board fuckery.
Nonetheless. A 31% swing in a "safe" red district is really something.

@zackbatist I don't know about the Carbon in general, but up to some time ago thinkpads were one of the most common laptop seen at linux community conferences, often in the hands of people with the ability to fix any compatibility issues (as long as it was some feature they wanted to use).
To me old thinkpads are definitely worth their price, but my computing needs are such that I'm usually fine for many years with thinkpads bought when they were old enough to cost less than 200 € (including most of the price of a new battery)

Il ponte di Padernon d'Adda, che spettacolo. Dal vivo è impressionante, veramente in alto. La struttura d'acciaio è "leggerissima" dal punto di vista visivo. Anche nella foto, il ponte è praticamente trasparente

I don't know if this is good or bad. On one hand, cool a Republican lost, but on other, it gives Dems comfort ... maybe they won't actually have to do anything but vote.
This is state legislative seat and has very little to do with elections for the US House/Senate or President.
