@petergleick I think literally *everything* comes down to oil in some way or other. Our societies have built a dangerous level of dependence on it instead of switching over to things we could have more control over, so it's pretty much at every level.
Even just stuff like food is going to go up because it will cost more to actually move stuff around. (Even stuff local uses like fertilizer will go up...)
We could have switched the infrastructure by now, but we didn't.

@petergleick Oh dear. I think all those MAGA voters who believed Trump when he said he was going to bring inflation down are going to get a little lesson in the consequences of unquestioningly believing any old shit that a convicted fraudster says.
