Took an old dual-boot Acer laptop out of mothballs last night. Hasnât been booted in 3 years. Boot windows. Stuff doesnât work quite right. Spend half the day dealing with updates and finally that partition is a working system.
Boot Xubuntu. Everything still works perfectly and smoothly. Run apt-update; 35 minutes and a reboot and everything is up to date and still works smoothly.
But sure, Linux is fragile and hard to use

@foone I'm sure you've covered all the chordal keyboard options. There's one in the Mother Of All Demos, and they were also big in the 80s - I remember seeing demonstrations of the Microwriter on the telly! Always meant to try one, never did, story of my life.
