@oblomov @eniko yes and no. It's still very susceptible to spam, because it's a commonly used piece of forum software, so if you target it, then your audience is big, so the incentive is real. However, they do have a bunch of useful tools built in that will allow you to more easily deal with spam. For example there's a powerful reputation system built in, that would allow users to flag something as spam, and even if they're not a moderator, it would get hidden, because the user has a high enough reputation to be trusted. That is one of many features discourse has. It is not impervious to the problem though, it's constant game of cat and mouse.

Clearly I gotta roll my own. Security through obscurity baybee
