@eff@mastodon.social I have an iPhone I use a a standalone device to manage my insulin pump as a type 1 diabetic. I have very few other apps installed on that device and lockdown mode is enabled because I want to minimize the risk that a device with a drug could kill me being hacked into. No security is perfect but it provides some additional security protections that might help! I wish something similar was available for my Google Pixel device.

Based on what I'm reading basically there is no block list sent to anyone. The user you blocked receives a notification in their inbox.
They could still log peoples' preferences by setting up honeypot accounts and servers to get blocked. They'd not be able to just scrape or watch a public database for the info though.
Bluesky should remove the block feature. It can't be implemented in that architecture. The public processing pipeline discludes the possibility.

@jwildeboer My biggest issue with EVs is that most of the journeys they replace could easily be short walks, bike rides, or public transportation trips. EVs are definitely better than ICE vehicles though.
