@ricci At least it's not also hard to handwrite, looking at you chinese characters (which japanese kept but korean deprecated).

@ricci I like the idea of a German spelling bee where really the test is memory and endurance, rather than decoding.

@ricci yeah, blew my mind when I was learning German, and my instructor says “if you can pronounce it, you can spell it” in German. I just couldn’t accept it, so had him test me repeatedly and spelled them right every time! Mind blowing for an English speaker 🤯

My mother would be out with me as a baby in a stroller wandering around the neighbourhood past midnight because I was too bored to sleep and needed mental stimulation

I've seen me go to bed and try sleeping then my head starts chirping "What if you tried this? You know it might just work." and I then have to get up and try before I forget. 🤣

@stefano I have got the impression that especially when doing stuff with FreeBSD, it’s like go other people working on a model railway. It’s very time consuming, not always really productive and most people don’t understand why you invest so much lifetime in stuff that at the first glance has no deeper sense.
