What's in the bo... umm... envelope? It's this...
"Strategies against Algorithms" - the long promised "offline" Album by Schall und Stille / @stephan@stephan@sonomu.club .
You can't buy it for money. You won't get it from any online/streaming audio service.
The only chance to receive it, is to send a little piece of art, made by you, to the artist. A poem. A drawing. A song. Some wood carving. Whatever. But truly made by you.
I did. I'm glad I did.
What I got is a work of beauty. The booklet with those beautiful photographies alone. The wooden/engraved USB Stick is running this moment.
Did I say it's beautiful? Oh boy... The soundscapes. The intelligent compositions... but not being just "smart" or whatever. Those are gentle earworms that touch you emotionally. Every single track. It's not all cozy and warm though. There is plenty of variety. There is plenty of surprise.
This is a masterpiece. I'm dead serious.
I know Stephan personally - a bit. You may say I'm biased, but I don't think so. I have good friends that do shitty music - I'm never afraid to call 'em out ;) .
It's very different here. And mind me... this is not even my usual style of music. This is leaning into the 80s but thankfully not being kitsch 80s retro wave. Stephan world never do this for sure. Still: I'm not into this by default. But damn. It's so good!!
In my post before I talked about being fed up with conventional music. But as you may have noticed: Not in this case.
Thank you Stephan. -

Thank you Stephan.I may add this, after listening to all of the tracks.
This is at the same level as Talk Talk's "The Spirit of Eden" or Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love".
Yes. The same level. But different. In case you wonder how it's like. -
