I sometimes wished conservatives wouldn't fall for reactionaries bs, like calling right-wing believes "conservative" and get pulled to extremist views.
I hoped they'd have learned from their mistakes 95 years ago. But we see it happening again and again.
I personally don't have much against conservatives who merely disagree on the means to get to a better society.
But too often they fall into the traps of the right-wing extremist reactionaries. 1/x

And I wished there would be a way to prevent all this from happening, but sometimes it also looks like that a lot of "conservatives" are just secretly "reactionaries", but just fly under the radar until the opportunity to crawl out of their caves arises.
And a lot of political trust gets lost in the process, because as a progressive thinking person, somebody identifying as "conservative" can mean anything. And you can't be sure if they just pretend or not.

And I do know a couple of conservative politicians I can respect as a "political opponent" as they do voice opposition when their party drifts to the right-wing reactionaries.
And I'd love to see more of them. Conservatives drawing the lines as well and saying "well I might be conservatives, but hating on minorities and poor folks goes too far".

And it's only natural that with such an environment a lot of marginalized folks don't trust any "conservative", because they got disappointed all too often.
And especially conservatives in "centrist" parties, e.g. democrats in the US, instead of drawing such lines, just run after the right-wing reactionaries in hope of not losing any votes, which just means they lose votes without wining any back.
It's kinda disappointed to see honestly.
