Sooooo hoping I didn't overplay my hand. I would be be pretty surprised if "tenant's space" somehow magically included the other apartment and that an arrangement where I'm financially responsible for everything over $120 (barely covers the water) is actually legal.

The water company actually would not let him do that! They actually refused to let a tenant transfer the bill into their name for a two unit, one meter building.
I would have looked this up earlier, but you know, life and all. Anyway I guess if he doesn't take my recommendation that we find a new arrangement (while quoting Oregon statutes at him) seriously I'll have to get a lawyer. Which is annoying but hey.
Fuck, I'm still annoyed. Why the hell do I have to parse through legal language just to keep his dumb ass on the right side of the fucking law, or else I lose an assload of money each month? This fucking guy. -
