He says it "would be nice" if you'd just stop being "perfomative" and "reevaluate" your "cultural grounds" in order to "be back".
@wolfpld no grandfather we will not
(besides some of us have been booted off the platform)

@wolfpld it’s a bummer how some important folks lose relevance in ways other than “retired to build models and go hiking and read a bunch of books”.

@wolfpld Even if it affirmed all my values and cultural priors, I still wouldn't find it usable. I still use it in read-only mode maybe once a week via nitter.net in order to check some specific things, and even without the algorithmic feed it's 95% slop and engagement farming, most of it by obvious bots.

@wolfpld he gave away his cat to the shelter because it was distracting him from coding - fuck him and that csam generating pseudo-social network.

@pervognsen @wolfpld I’m so glad to have you folks here, the discourse is so much more relaxed and genuine. When I peak at the folks who stayed there on nitter, you see a super tight group of always the same folks with the same anger..

@pervognsen I check it once per day out of habit. It takes me about a minute, as there's almost nothing there, save for the usual bunch of 3 or 4 "known" tech people.

@tumdum It's baffling how much of the uncensored stuff there is in both Masters of Doom and in the Doom Guy. And he signed off on both of those books!
You also get a completely new appreciation for Romero when you see how much he isn't saying in the Doom Guy!

@wolfpld it's however *not* a performance to stay on a dead social media website after everyone has left. Very important to know the difference, it's like knowing what's political and what's obviously not political.

@dotstdy Very accurate. As I see things, here on mastodon people want to talk with each other. On twitter people want a platform, so they can talk to others. It is indeed a performance.
