@jzb @kattekrab every species is part of the web of life, providing food for some species, controlling the population of another, symbiotically supporting yet another. There are 3400+ species of mosquitoes around the world, and each of them is part of their local ecology.

@kattekrab I believe they're a big part of the diet for some bat species. So no mosquitoes might mean no food for some bats or other animals.
Other than that, I've wondered the same thing, and I can't think of any benefits they provide.
