Holy shit—per the JSON data this petition only went up about an hour ago, and it's already over 750,000 subscribers!

Betcha it vanishes within 24 hours amidst fuzzy non-specific allegations about hacking and foreign state agencies rigging it. Because what else are they going to do about it—let it go to a parliamentary debate?

@cstross It'll just get the usual crappy response for the 10,000 level and it will be herded through irrespective of any debate unless enough Labour MPs get behind it. To me it feels like someone has said 'do something' to Starmer and as usual, he's firmly grasped the wrong end of the stick.

@ret @cstross Yep, because Glasman and his Blue Labour cronies think they need to 'reach out' to them, while ignoring people who actually might vote Labour. For that matter, Farage will come out against it when he sniffs the wind as usual.
