It is worth noting that I have an above average ability to visualize things in my head, which might have been in part due to pursuing art all my life and having some formal training as an artist, but that's not something everyone has (and also being able to visualize something accurate relies on having a good enough understanding of the priors involved, though I find that's less of a problem for me than one might expect)

@hipsterelectron @mtrc @clayote @shoofle a friend of mine has severe aphantasia, he has his own ways of reasoning that are as alien to me as my ability to visualize things is to him, and I've come to appreciate that there's likely a vast variety in the way people think and solve problems, way more so than society is comfortable admitting
