We need to understand that blast radius, to understand where and how energies can be spent, whether it's reverting that damage, working with governance to prevent and contain damage, or whether it's forking damaged projects entirely.
We cannot afford the luxury of time on this one. We need to understand the problem **now**.
But also, not to immediately contradict my own point, we need to defend people of color *and now also* trans people from ICE, and *especially* intersections there of. We also need to understand the climate emergency, the ongoing pandemic, the the the the the the the.

@xgranade Well when you put it like that, it's a bloody miracle any of us manage to get out of bed in the morning.

@xgranade I think we're going to see a lot of forks over the next few years. And tbh, I'd be happy to participate because for once I can be sure that I'm joining a project with roughly the same moral compass and "quality over quantity" mindset.

@xgranade it's incredibly disheartening to see how many core parts have been infected. My enthusiasm for software is being strongly eroded. And the people who are responsible for bringing this blight into our ecosystem will never face any repercussions.

@lu_leipzig @xgranade I'm worried we'll see a lot of abandoned forks

@xgranade I don't think that systemd or python is something that can be damaged even more.

@rebolek That's deeply unhelpful, kindly fuck off.
Python is an incredible programming language developed by many wonderful people. It's also under attack, and didn't successfully defend against that attack. Both can be true.

@xgranade the polycrisis works to the advantage of the people who think they can profit from it,
until it doesn’t -
