Alright how about this, hear me out. If I wanna know the news or even if I don't wanna know the news some item will pop up as I'm scrolling and say summat like "You won't BELIEVE what just happened in Pennsylvania" or some shit like that and obviously I'm not gonna click a link like that because clickbait means full of shite and probably made-up but I AM curious so I'll click through to the comments because maybe the top one will tell me I don't have to bother reading but usually it's not, usually there'll be a thousand comments from, I cannot stress this enough, Bots and paid trolls and maybe 10% real people, who, I cannot stress this enough, have also not read the article, but who are SHOUTING in a COMPELLING WAY, and instead of spending precious minutes reading the junk article I can spend a leisurely half an hour filling my brain with anxietyslop and still never ever ever read any actual news
Instead of doing that, how about I spend five minutes a day skimming the headlines on https://cs.com, an actual news website which is obviously only still online and readable because its owners forgot about it
It's like getting your lunch from a forgotten dumpster round the back of a kebab house and having your lunch be actually nicer

I am informed that depending on where you are in the world and your browser or operating system you might see:
* a normal turn-of-the-century website with news on it and one banner ad at the top
* a mess of popups and nags asking for all your personal information to be sent to two hundred of the most useless and malignant companies you've never heard of
* EDIT: a pile of blue-links unstyled text with no layout or graphics, which tbqh might well be a relief to some of the sorts of people on Here -
