I've advanced to area denial via trimming back lots of bushes and trees that the gardening service the landlord pays for never bothers to do. And also now I'm using chemical warfare (cayenne pepper) against the #rats.
If this doesn't stop them I'm not sure what will.

@syrus I've got a video from a trail camera I put out of a rat following a stray cat along that same planter curb
The rat population exploded this year due to a massive acorn crop last year and now they're all starving and not afraid of anything.

@douglasvb That's terrible. I hope the barrier works. We have a lot of predators here between cats and coyotes that keep our rats under control.
