@ansuz @ColinTheMathmo this has been my experience also in the rare cases when my writing gets shared on HN (or lobste.rs or reddit, FWIW): there a bunch of ignorami who are full-in on the corporate propaganda, and a few sane voices that try to highlight how bad that is for everyone. 1/2

@stefano you picked my curiosity, not because of the perf gain but netbsd lobbyism :)
I tried to boot the iso and img on qemu and it failed. anyway i prefer baremetal for OS testing, dunno why and fortunately, I have saved an Asus Core2Duo from trash which will be the 'host' for the experiment.
I would have resisted or waited 25y to test NetBSD. 😆
