@babe My wife, to whom (and I quote) "computers are the nonsense with which my husband wastes his time at work" uses Linux on her notebook since at least 2003 or so. First Mandrake/Mandriva, then Ubuntu and maybe the last five years or so she's on Mint. Yes, I installed those once, but I just told her to click "yes" whenever it asks about updates and she's been just using her machines ever since. (Browsing, email, office.)

Windows 11 has sent my kids to Linux, too, because gaming works now. 🥰

wow. thats impressive dedication. What were the big hangups? I'm too deep into Linux admin to know what causes trouble, its useful to see what goes wrong though.
