Yup, another classic is a journalist sitting in room with two other people, one claims it has been raining very heavily for 5 hours and the other than it has been warm sunshine. The journalist can look outside for signs of rainy or dry weather and report their findings. -

Journalism is not about presenting “both sides” of an issue. It’s about finding the truth and telling it. And doing so regardless of whether or not it’s popular, profitable, or in the interests of the powerful.
Journalism, yes, absolutely.
It's a pity most of the mainstream media don't hire journalists.

I once saw a detailed write-up of how a single local news story was rewritten, with more and more details added, to become a first-person urban legend (with imaginative quotations from eye-witnesses) about a movie theater demolished while showing "Twister". (Something the print media were fully capable of doing without the assistance of social media.)
