It's March 13th and that means it's Dead Winter's 19th Anniversary. Nineteen years in the webcomic mines... it's been a long time! Whenever you first picked it up, whenever you drifted apart and whenever you happened to find it again, thanks for sticking around. #webcomics

@rally happy anniversary!
Do you have any advice for making sure one keeps enjoying working on such a long term project? Asking because I have only just started...

@gooseliketyping Don't dwell on making any piece of art perfect. If something isn't quite right, fix it on the next one. Also, don't plan your story too far ahead, you'll get a great idea midway through executing your original idea and then things will have to change. Be flexible, and let your characters guide you a little bit towards where they want to be.

@rally thank you!
I have a chunk of story that started as a fever dream, and another chunk that goes before it that makes a much better beginning. I'll avoid adding much after until it starts feeling like a deadline approaching.

@gooseliketyping It's an organic process. Guide it, but don't try to control it too hard. You'll be surprised where it might take you. Good luck!

@rally that organic process of exploring what characters think and do feels a lot like playing with fractal zooming software. There's always more, and many pretty surprises.
