It brings me such a sense of relief and jolly that I often have trouble understanding the cruel silliness of other social media and certain events. Sometimes I have to ask people IRL "have you heard about this [big fediverse thing]" but usually the gap isnt that wide.

@LianaBrooks Yes but unknown because I am really just starting to use Mastodon. My Facebook use is down 90%, TikTok is view only and zero Instagram, Bluesky or Snap. I deleted my X account when Elon started Doge.

My early assessment is kinda but it's a really different experience and group. I think it's good but I'll need to adapt to it and nobody I know is here, so this is just online connections only.

@LianaBrooks Yes this is my primary social media interaction but I am not as satisfied with it as I would wish to be. It's harder to find the types of accounts I am interested in following - predominantly news and arts/culture - but it feels safer and more affirming than twitter ever did. Still, I would like more community within my interests.
