@aeva I kinda vaguely remember hearing about them removing it a while back? Not for security, not by accident, but just acquiescing to the decades-long hate campaign.

@aeva I'd say resurrect it with a Java applet, but I don't know if you can do those anymore either.

@klara @aeva i seem to recall it being stated unequivocally many a time that the web platform is fully backwards compatible (hence why es6 let/const didn't actually solve the mysterious variable declaration semantics but just added new failure modes) but this would seem to contradict that perfect backwards compat?

@klara I was kinda thinking what if I could dig up an old copy of flash and some kind of flash to js translator or something, and then build a new website in flash...
