I have bought an expensive and nice, extra warm duvet, a couple of days ago.

At least I don't really get migraines any more, these days my nose just burns on the inside and I'm constantly aware of any new smell anywhere.

Pour one out for dogs and cats, with much more sensitive senses than humans, having to live with our bullshit because everything must smell "nice" 😐

@sinituulia between this, and fear I developed from that one episode of CSI I watched once where people died from wearing "new" clothes, I always wash everything that comes through the door before I use it. I did that with the duvets we bought few years back too.

It's a giant pain in the arse though.

If I wanted to smell a scent when going to bed I could just put some essence on the bedside table, and it would work just as well!

@jjcelery No dryer and it would take a much bigger washing machine to fit in a duvet, much less this one... Ideally I could just air it out, but the weather is rain, rain, 90% humidity, more rain and so on, even if I could wrangle the enormous thing to take it all the way outside

Apparently the cats don't mind it. Maybe they even like it, as they were napping next to the carry bag previously, also.
Me, I've taken an antihistamine and my nose doesn't hurt as much now.

I have been sleeping under the duvet, it's very warm and wonderfully puffy. But now my entire body smells like it. The duvet and I, we are becoming one.

@sinituulia I think what you are supposed to do is to carefully lick all of your fur, and then sleep under the duvet again until it will start smelling like you.

just be careful of any two-legs who tries to wash the duvet and break the process.
