I have bought an expensive and nice, extra warm duvet, a couple of days ago. Now unpacked it from its little (large) carrier bag because I finally got a duvet cover washed and jesus fuck why does everything need to smell of things? This one I'd describe as the perfume aisle of a supermarket, with tones of apple and a side of laundry detergent and scented candle.
Why must smells? Please no smells, all things sans smell please 😭

At least I don't really get migraines any more, these days my nose just burns on the inside and I'm constantly aware of any new smell anywhere.
Pour one out for dogs and cats, with much more sensitive senses than humans, having to live with our bullshit because everything must smell "nice" 😐

@sinituulia between this, and fear I developed from that one episode of CSI I watched once where people died from wearing "new" clothes, I always wash everything that comes through the door before I use it. I did that with the duvets we bought few years back too.
It's a giant pain in the arse though.

If I wanted to smell a scent when going to bed I could just put some essence on the bedside table, and it would work just as well!

@jjcelery No dryer and it would take a much bigger washing machine to fit in a duvet, much less this one... Ideally I could just air it out, but the weather is rain, rain, 90% humidity, more rain and so on, even if I could wrangle the enormous thing to take it all the way outside

And sadly, RedHat controls the development of a lot of FLOSS that has been more or less shine e down everyone's throat across all distributions. 8-(
