@cstross @ColesStreetPothole I was just thinking earlier that the reason they're frothing about the ludicrous idea that he's going to introduce Sharia law and similar batshittery is that they assume anyone who has a religious faith wants to force everyone else to follow the rules of that faith - because that's exactly what they want to do with theirs. They can't conceive of there being people who don't think like them.

@beecycling @ColesStreetPothole Absolutely correct. Authoritarians (in the Altemeyer sense) don't understand people who don't see the world their way. The entire concept of "diversity" is meaningless to them.
