Bye then Hamburg, for now. Possibly my last journey in one of these old DB IC1 carriages lent to DSB for the København–Hamburg route before DSB gets all their new Talgo sets into use.
I think I heard some people boarding speaking Swiss German, and if they arrived had on the Nightjet from Zürich and Basel, it arrived in time today, too, when they were able to continue their journey on this train. Also the Nightjet from Wien arrived in time, some ten minutes earlier and on the same track from which this one left even, so that was a very nice connection. Personally, I would not dare to make a whole day’s travel depend on such a tight connection, though. But, as there is no mandatory reservation on these trains, you take the train you can catch in time. At least if you have a flexible enough ticket, like #Interrail. The next train to Copenhagen is in two hours.
Have a first class six person compartment to myself for now. That is nice. When fully occupied, in hot weather, this type of compartment is not that nice.
Said hello to a very cute rescue dog on the platform. Possibly a mix of corgie and kooikerhondje?

And... we are standing in Padborg without a train driver. They will arrive after a while and this train will continue around 13:00, they said. Oh well, will take an IC at 12:21 from here to Fredericia and another one to Copenhagen. Booked a later train from Malmö to Stockholm instead, luckily there were seats available. I am overnighting in Stockholm and had no plans to do anything special there in the evening anyway so no big deal.
Not as bad as some years ago when there was "unexpected" wintry weather in February, no electricity in the wires, and the train was delayed almost 10 hours into Copenhagen.
Pic: Three old CFL diesels (not Nohabs, as I first thought) in Padborg.

Actually, I think what happened was that the train in the other direction (EC 393) was delayed one hour or so, and we would get our driver from that train. So we had to wait for that train, and then for the driver to have their lunch break.
