I will add the #FreeBSD team has made *significant* efforts to improve the desktop experience, particularly on laptops. Each release just gets better.

@futurebird P.S.: it's funny - and it's the first time that I think about this - but in French to make something worse is "empirer"... (pire = worse)... but also "empire" is empire (in the English sense of the word). I hope I'm making sense 😅

As a teacher, I vastly prefer #slopocalypse to #enshittification because swear words present problems in my line of work. I can't host a conversation about #enshittification with middle school students.
Or rather I can but we'd need to call it something else. It's not a huge deal, and I think the swear word is ... valid in this context. It's a valid response to what has happened to much of the internet.
But, it does present a needless barrier.
