In Switzerland we have something called "prestations complémentaires" in french. I guess it goes somewhat in the direction of GMI. But it's not open to everyone.

@codinghorror There is one single complaint I have about your "Share the American Dream" donation recipients: The Common Crawl Foundation shouldn't have received that million dollars, as the information it indiscriminately fetches without regard to licensing is part of the reason why #GenAI is a copyright landmine. If you're to insist with AI (if we disregard the economic and ethical costs), I'd rather see that money spent into building an open-source, replicatable corpus of data instead, such as the Common Pile: huggingface.co/papers/2506.052… -

@codinghorror Another strong argument for GMI is that you literally cannot implement UBI as part of the fonesse with it is that it is unified with the tax system.

How the hell did running a desktop VM go from incredibly simple to a fucking nightmare? Running a Windows VM on a Linux host used to be like: choose VM tool, install VM tool, pick CPU/RAM/DISK limits, boot an ISO
Every single desktop VM tool seems to have gotten much more complicated to set up and use, and I’m not seeing any benefit I get in exchange for that.

Non so ma, x fare un esempio, sulla Volvo EX30 montano in base all'allestimento, 2 tipi di batteria diverse: LFP (al litio-ferro-fosfato) e NCM (al nickel-manganese-cobalto). In ogni caso tra un mese, un anno, un decennio la tecnologia sarà migliorata e i numeri di oggi non avranno + valore
