Some years ago a banjo player Desert Rat was throwing out songs that remind me of the stuff Jesse Welles is doing now

But he only did one home-made CD right after the WTO protests in 1999 as far as I know. The distribution just wasn’t there like YouTube now

@DeliaChristina how modern are you wanting? Billy Bragg and David Rovics are both very good but it's still just dudes singing semi badly over guitar. Tom Morello has an entire album of labour songs that aren't exactly to my taste but are solid and don't sound like Joe Hill songs. The longest johns also have some good stuff
