(in other words, while the Wobblies are commendable, their hymns are not what I'm seeking right now.)
any recs?
(looking at you, the part of the fediverse with vinyl collections you haven't talked about in a while. now is your time to shine.)@DeliaChristina how modern are you wanting? Billy Bragg and David Rovics are both very good but it's still just dudes singing semi badly over guitar. Tom Morello has an entire album of labour songs that aren't exactly to my taste but are solid and don't sound like Joe Hill songs. The longest johns also have some good stuff

@DeliaChristina How recent are you looking for? (This is a rhetorical question, I only have the one suggestion) Chumbawamba is from the 90s but a lot of their music is very anti-authoritarian, like "The Day the Nazi Died" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSqUBwlHld4
@The_T @DeliaChristina i second Chumbawamba, especially the album “Singsong And A Scrap” (which is more folk than most of their records). “Smith & Taylor” is a highlight for me
Blue Scholars are good and pro-labour, but Filipino Maoist, so probably don’t meet your criteria for antiauthoritarian.
