I think a lot of people are attracted to "Sora" the AI video and server use generating application because it will put your face in a video.

But, I'm terrified of this for a few reasons. There is a privacy angle. It wants to scan your face from every angle which I assume they will sell to the cops.

@futurebird thank you for bringing this up!
I just listened to @404mediaco ‘s podcast on this very topic and apparently Sora also asks you to speak when you set it up… so it can emulate your voice too.
The 404 Media folks say that nowadays it only takes 17 seconds of voice samples to recreate someone’s voice with AI.
Absolutely terrifying

Is it possible for someone to scan and record another person without their knowledge or consent?@USelaine @futurebird @404mediaco for facial biometrics, I think that's unlikely... the 404 Media podcast explains that when you set up Sora, it asks you to move your face in precise ways / directions so that it can fully scan it (think: like Apple Face ID, most likely).
The ship has sailed for voice, though, I think... that's so much easier
