Has anyone ever heard of this?
@futurebird I've heard it said that there are the.most births (human) in August, perhaps there is truth to that? Also I would wonder if hosts of birthday parties in colder weather opt for other kinds of cakes. Baking is more comfortable when it's cold out, if nothing else.

@futurebird Seems that February is, indeed, the least popular “birthday month”, but it’s a shorter month so not really a fair competition. August is tops, followed by July-October-September, so late summer to early fall is more or less “birthday season”. Our area is by a river, lots of trees.... NO STREET LIGHTS...

@bryan it was ok. Lentils were a bit overcooked and not exactly the right texture for the task, but as a platform for leftover curry it was fine. I won't be making it a habit but it wasn't bad. Lentils can remain an ingredient for dal and not a replacement for rice.
