And the profiteering has begun. Diesel has reached €1.93 per liter, which is more than 20 cents higher than just a few days ago. But in my opinion, the current supplies arrived at the refinery months ago and were delivered only days ago, at the previous prices.
Unfortunately, there are always some opportunists who try to take advantage of the situation.

@stefano Oh boy. I am not looking forward to the egregious price hikes to hit the US any time now.

@stefano yeah, when this happens in the czech republic, they always say that it's the new supply so they have to raise the price. But when the oil prices drop, they always have a lot of the old one in stock 😅😅😅

@stefano Last time fuel prices increased like this, in 2022, it was shortly afterwards followed by an even more dramatic rise in food prices, which never dropped back down unlike the fuel.
I mean I‘m obviously lucky that this is currently the biggest concern in terms of direct impact on me - and not that my house will be hit by a drone or missile - but I am very much not looking forward to paying even more for feeding my family; it’s already our biggest household expense. -

@stefano
Yesterday, a petroleum lobbyist said on TV that the prices for the "old, cheap oil in the tanks" had to be increased in order to be able to buy new, expensive oil.
He said this without blushing. 😤 -

I see similarities in your country with the fuel prices in mine
It should not be so
Diesel is more expensive then unleaded!
Diesel has always been, should always be, lower in Price than unleaded. This difference means that everything that needs to be moved, in trucks, trains, ships, will be strangely more expensive in the transport Department
