I've found it so hard to find books I wanna read written in French that I've started buying translations of stuff I would have bought in English instead.
Fedi: does anyone here have recommendations for books in French by francophone authors (from anywhere) that fall into some subset of queer, cozy, and/or F/SF?
Not looking for serious horror, lit fic, or straight romance.
Thanks and please boost!

@tess since this thread started with a comic: Check out Éditions Pow Pow's catalog (https://editionspowpow.com/), not all of their books fit the bill entirely, but their "editorial vibe" is close enough that I'm sure you'll find something to your liking in there. My personal favorite is La Méduse by Boum, though it's an absolute emotional bummer so make sure you're in the mood for that

@tess I'm rereading Thorgal, that is a famous graphic novel series originally by Jean Van Hamme w/ art by Grzegorz Rosiński. The genre is a weird mix of fantasy and science fiction. I like it a lot, but it's about as straight as it gets romance-wise and I wouldn't call it cozy since kind of the main line of the whole series is that Thorgal would like to settle down and live a tranquil life with his family but keeps getting reluctantly dragged into adventures. So hm 1 out of 3?

@tess When I was trying to level up my French a few years ago I ran into the same issue! I can’t vouch for any of them as amazing literature, but I enjoyed the fantasy novels La Passe-miroir (YA romantasy light on romance, heavy on political drama) and Le Paris de merveilles (Belle Epoche + fae and magic).
