In Baker Lake, Inuit communities depend on the hunting of caribou, a mammal species that is threatened by uranium mining activities. During a participatory workshop conducted with elders, a caribou wheel was designed to assess the impact of mining on the livelihood of this mammal. This method helped the elders design a community-based research project to carry out this evaluation. #Canada (2010) © Sylvie Blangy #Inuit #caribou #mining #photography
