Tintin, The Wayback Machine, and The Public Domainby Sterling DudleyWhat do a Belgian boy reporter, a forgotten 2008 webpage, and the Wayback Machine have in common? They all played a role in uncovering Tintin the Belgian detective’s earliest adventures as part of Public Domain Day 2025. https://blog.archive.org/2025/12/26/wayback-machine-and-public-domain-research/#books #publicDomainDayCountdown

Need some help making a decision.I'm putting together a saucy romance with two complimentary POV's. With the understanding that this is all very subjective, what kinds of perspective would you find most interesting? The story is novella length at 35-40K words, is very character-based and delves into the characters' memories and dreams fairly often. The mixed option would have dream and memory sequences in present and actual events in past.Boost for reach#Writing #reading #Books #romance

An Amazon AI chatbot that sums up the book you are reading while you are reading it. While trampling over the writer’s rights. “Ask This Book."“Your expert reading assistant, instantly answering questions about plot details, character relationships, and thematic elements without disrupting your reading flow.”Enshittification is too polite a word for all this.#Books #Bookstodon #Enshittification #AI https://writerbeware.blog/2025/12/12/kindles-new-gen-ai-powered-ask-this-book-feature-raises-rights-concerns/

@szbalint This is true. The forensic pathologist's name is Pétur Guðmann Guðmannsson. He did a few seminars for crime writers via the continuing education centre of the University of Iceland where he's an assistant professorI don't think he does the seminars any more but AFAICT he's still answering email questions from writersCBC did an interview with him a couple of years ago https://www.cbc.ca/radio/asithappens/iceland-forensic-pathologist-1.6911486
