Small hack to find your people.
Instead off saying "I have this idea to do XYZ ..." say "Has anyone thought of doing XYZ and how could I join/help?". The thought here is that everything you can think of has already been thought by someone else. And instead of letting your ego win by hoping you, and only you, are the best leader for this idea, understand the power of ideas that are free to roam and find new friends.

@jwildeboer Nice side effect: Saying "I intend to (illegal activity)" - - > Clearly illegal! "Has anyone thought to (illegal activity)" - - > Just a curious person doing research.

@ben444 I will never understand why people go out of their way to inject negativity under every post I make. Whatever floats your boat, though. Welcome to my blocklist.

@ben444 @jwildeboer I think they were just trying to be funny, not disruptive? Either way, what you said was really good advice!

@jwildeboer not only that, if no one has thought of it and others agree it is a good idea, it may take on a new life.
To your point: This requires the idea to be bigger than the egos involved.
