A video is being shared which looks like US ice hockey captain Hilary Knight saying that Trump is trying to use the women's Olympic ice hockey team as a political tool.
The problem is, the video uses an AI generated voice and a made up script to put words in the mouth of Ms. Knight.
If you look carefully, you can even see, that TikTok shows the video as AI generated (red arrow).
The spread has likely started from TikTok account Starstream5 with 32,500 followers.

Here is the TikTok video which is AI generated and is in fact NOT an interview with US Olympic ice hockey team lead Hilary Knight.
I speculate that this video was created for the purpose of raising internal conflict in the US, but it could also simply be the mentioned TikTok account trying to build a following using fake content. Building a following on TikTok can be lucrative for those who succeed.

Edit: even poorly made, I've seen people not able to tell it's AI. -

The more real people we are on Mastodon, the better we can combat the disinformation attacks.

@matz @oblomov @lysander @marcoboh esiste una pronuncia corretta delle "e" e delle "o" dai cui dipende il significato della parola (pésca/pèsca, bótte/bòtte...) e poi esiste un accento regionale locale che apre o chiude le vocali a prescindere dal significato. E spesso nel parlare quotidiano prevale quest'ultimo.

I'm not involved in the project in my company, we are doing exactly that refactoring (though not LLM-assisted) - and in parts actually develop new systems to replace the old one.
