"As much as we are meant to be stewards of the land, we also must be stewards of each other. Of our community. Of those who cannot take care of themselves. Those who claim they care about accessibility must do the work to make socialization and gathering truly accessible and safe.”Much gratitude to @brennan for this scientifically sound, well-researched article that cites its sources. Health journalists and science communicators take note: this is how it is done. https://brennan.day/the-pandemic-never-ended-we-only-pretend-it-did/#CovidIsNotOver #MaskUp #LongCOVID #MEcfs #PublicHealth

Hi!Jennifer Hamilton here, formerly of med-mastodon.com. That server shut down suddenly. If you followed me before for my toots about #vaccines, #PublicHealth, #FamilyMedicine, my gripes about #ElectronicMedicalRecords #EMR, or even just a few #caturday pictures and chats about bicycling, I'm on mstdn.science now.The old #MedMastodon went down suddenly in the last week of December 2025, and I don't have a list of my old followers. Please boost this so they can find me!

#FootpathFriday The Whaligoe Steps, on the eastern Scottish coast. These were built to enable local herring women to haul huge baskets of fish up from the boats to the processing facility above. Lucky them. There are over 300 steps - no two sources seem to arrive at the same number - and the steps are maintained by local villagers. They're not *quite* as steep as the Tourist Board would have you believe, but then I was only hauling my fat arse up them and not a massive load of fish.#Scotland

For the "What" people:Generally when you are on antibiotics, they kill off a bunch of useful bacteria in your body too. So I was always told by doctors not to forget to take probiotics to help with the digestion issues. But as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be a practice to warn vagina-having people that antibiotics kill off the OTHER flora in your body as well. Go figure.
