The only thing preventing me from launching Mastodon.bd is storage cost. I wanted to use Backblaze B2 but they charge for API calls. Which might become quite expensive as the server grows. After all I'm a student :) ..
Anyway, what's your suggestion? Any guidance would be appreciated.

My personal instance uses about 100-120 GB. It's currently hosted in a Contabo VPS as my homelab went down last week.

They're accelerating this stuff. And if you're like "whew, guess I'm glad I'm not in Kansas!"
There are people who *are* in Kansas and not everyone has an easy choice in the matter. And also they're invalidating birth certificates, too, and that's much harder to deal with.
And this is just the prototype. They want to roll this out nationally, and where they can, internationally.
We should all be alarmed.
