Aside: sometimes I get worried about following someone, particularly if I post (kind! welcoming!) replies etc., but there is no interaction / response.
At that point, my "worrying about not wanting to be *that* unwanted man on the Internet" kicks in, so I tend to step back, and either or both not reply again, or unfollow.
And then I don't see their stuff, which means I can't promote it / engage with it etc., even if they actually welcomed it but just didn't want to engage.
*sigh*
@neil if they're open follow they're open follow. If they need to approve followers and approved then they approved it. Either way they can always block you. I don't expect people I follow to necessarily engage when I do.

@Colman I don't expect it, but if I like, and reply, and do so multiple times, without a response, I generally decide that I could be unwelcome, and so desist. Perhaps I am unduly cautious, but oh well.

@holsta I've yet to find a Free software Android terminal client which supports using *-sk (resident or non-resident) certificates for cert-based ssh.
I think that the answer is, quite simply, that there is none.
@neil Sorry, I barely touch Android - I only know that Termius supports FIDO2, but I assume you've tried that?

@holsta No, as it is not FOSS, sadly.

@neil Ugh, I'm *this* close to getting an MNT Pocket. Phones just seem to not want to be real computers that we can use however we want.

@holsta I used one for a few minutes, and while I would love to love it, for its ethos and openness, I'm just not sure I could flex around it enough.

"Sex and the Fedi"
@neil Good post, Neil and some interesting points raised by other commentators.
Some, however, seem to be missing the point. The post was about sex-content creators, so when someone says 'your sex life is not a spectator sport anywhere...' we're not talking about random passers by, we're talking about people who have followed a creator.
If you've followed 'Jaimie's Erotica' there is a reasonable expectation that you might be exposed to erotica. Having done so, why be shy about engaging? -

The reason I'm reluctant to boost posts from sex bloggers, is that my followers haven't. They share some of my interests, but not all.
I'm friends with many of my followers, and it would feel a bit weird to me to boost sex content at them. -

* you, being mindful of what you boost; and
* one particular commentator, who appeared to be of the view that the web should be tailored, by default, to their preferences, with anything that they did not wish to see being hidden away
!

@Jaimieserotica @neil I follow a few fantastic sex bloggers, and I boost what I think I can. I've learned so much from GoTN and I think loads of people would benefit from being aware of her.

@neil @Jaimieserotica oh indeed.
That one particular commentator is wrong and should feel bad. -

@neil Fuck my inhibitions and fear of seeming creepy. I'm going to boost more of @girlonthenet and some other wonderful people I got to know here. I'm here to share good things and ideas, not my body fluids.

Having done so, why be shy about engaging?@Jaimieserotica @neil the main reason I probably wouldn't boost the "fun stuff" is that I'm extremely aware that amateur radio is historically a very male dominated hobby
It's often a "boys club" and you'll see plenty of disrespectful and inappropriate images on sstv, comments about and to not-men etc.I'm very keen to make this server a welcome and inclusive place, boosting the "fun stuff" feels like it could be uncomfortable for enough people who I want to be welcome to make it worth avoiding

@neil hello, we are the overthinkers club, come in, sit down, we have cookies but now we’re not sure we baked the correct cookies and oh god everyone hates our cookies why did we ever think cookies were a good idea and who died and made us queens of overthinking who were we to think we should start an entire club for overthinking this whole thing is a disaster

@Thegriffyn I always have time for a Monty Python reference :)
