I just want to note that I will occasionally get someone that DMs me to ask if they are coming off too creepy after engaging for a bit. I'm happy to answer these because I see someone reflecting and wanting to calibrate, which is a positive thing in my opinion.
However, I also know that many people will still rather not be known as wanting to engage, which is a valid choice, but it can be a little demoralizing sometimes.

Some are on .social, and others are on other instances (some general purpose, some more aimed at sex-related content).
But I guess that, yes, that could have a significant impact.
