that's been my experience too, but sometimes there are little gaps where creative people can reap big rewards. i was in tech for three of those transitions. but they don't last very long.
Non ricordo più chi aveva consigliato questa torrefazione qui sul Mastodon, leggendo qualche commento mi ero salvata questo progetto perché mi sembrava super interessante, e ora finalmente abbiamo fatto il primo ordine!
@riffraff Good read indeed, very thoughtful and well-written. Even for someone only remotely interested in ruby, such as myself. Thanks for sharing !This will definitely inspire me in future write-ups.
I will start the work on switching my blog away from #Jekyll with all the fights in the #Ruby world. I hope they can solve their issues, but in case they can't I should be prepared to switch. So. Which Static Site Generator should I look at? #Hugo, obviously, but what other SSGs do you think are worth a look?
@jaredwhite yeah I think in the 00s. The ruby community back then was tiny but full of random interesting initiatives. E.g. I remember the Ruby Package Archive, which would have been a debian-like package system with maintainers instead of a "publish what you want" system like rubygems.Given the recent supply chain attack craze.. well maybe it was an idea worth pursuing.
